The end of Sinny Fields

Five years later, the mad king of his homeland had cut down every last forest. The once-green kingdom had become a barren wasteland. Some fled into the open steppes, some vanished into the depths of the earth, and others scattered to distant lands. Yet the king’s greed knew no bounds. His eyes turned toward the sunlit country of fertile fields — a land overflowing with harvests and joy. Envy consumed him, and he unleashed his armies upon it.

Into the wanderer’s city fell burning arrows, setting the fields ablaze until nothing remained but smoke and ash. The laughter of the people, the songs of feasts, and the golden waves of grain were gone — leaving only scorched earth, blackened and empty.

The wanderer stood alone in the middle of the ruined fields, watching as the mad king’s army advanced toward him, an unstoppable tide of steel and fire.
